When I picked up this book to read, I had completly forgotten that I had read it before. And as I read along, the story was coming back to me. But for some reason I couldn't remember what happened at the end. So I thought maybe I didn't finish it. Turned out I had though. As I drew to the end I realized that I had finished this book. So guess it didn't make a great impression on me because I had so easily forgotten it once I put it down. I did however enjoy it more the second time around. The book was funny and romantic. But It just didn't grab me like I hoped. So only 2 stars from me. I found I didn't really know the characters all that well once I finished. They were vague, lacked depth and not all that interesting. But I would like to read 'Single white Vampire' after this. Apart from the dislike I experienced in 'Love Bites', I do like Lynsay Sands writing.

Another true crime story, again very fascinating to hear the family stories of both the victim and the murderer. It will make you appreciate how normal your own spouse is.

In Living the Extraordinary Life, Dr. Stanley stresses the importance that each believer know and live out each day.. that we can do nothing on our own, but that through Jesus Christ we can & will Succeed!! As Philippians 1:6 says "He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." The Extraordinary Life is the life sustained by an inner peace and joy in the good times as well as the bad. This is accomplished by living in undisturbed union with Jesus Christ, and by His strength!!

Mix Biblical-lore, romance, women's lib, circumcision practices, ritualistic rights of passage and you've got yourself a good read. I sat down and read this book in one Saturday. The story is wonderful and interesting, and you don't need to be a Biblical scholar to understand. And believe you me, the Bible is not the first place I look for references. Once I realized that Dinah's brother was Joseph, as in the Joe from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, I couldn't stop singing "Jacob and Sons" in my head. The feminist issues brought up in the text are very serious, and the story can be looked at as an accomplishment to expose women's roles (and how they have been lost) in the Church. The images in the book are captivating, and kept my attention. I'm only going to say it once, but a good historical romance can lift a boy's spirits on a lazy Saturday. I recommended it to my mom and sister, they both enjoyed.
Seruuu abisss

This was a fascinating book! A great blend of suspense and human interest. I couldn't put this one down!!
The first few chapters are very confusing. They feel disjointed. I have read the first book, and the first chapters are to bring the reader up to speed on the previous events and prepare for this book. Honestly, skip them. They really don't help. When you get to chapter four the book begins to take off and finally become a story. Lacey is the second in the "Husbands for Hire" to find an attractive man. She doesn't want to be attracted to Chase. He is a rugged tracker and not very sociable. He can be downright rude. Try as she might, she can't help the growing attraction she feels for him. Chase didn't come to Hope Falls to find a bride. He came to find out the truth about his brother in law's death in a mine. He is seeking justice, his attraction for Lacey is more of a bother to him. This book is about overcoming preconceived notions and opening your heart to the unexpected. The romance doesn't happen until the end and as I was getting closer to the end, I kept wondering how the two of them would find it in their hearts to give each other a chance. The ending felt incomplete and rushed. This is a fun book. I liked it. I liked the first one better though.

Classic satire, of course, exposing the horrible things that war does to man (and man does in war). Did I detect a whiff of hope at the end? My only quibble is that I felt it went on too long. The absurdist premise was wonderful and so much of the book was relevant to it, but ultimately unnecessary? Could the book have had the exact same impact but with 2/3 the length? Nonetheless, a necessary read for anyone who still thinks that war is glorious or noble.
