I loved this book.I loved the story, the plot, the characters.I loved pretty much everything about it. I have to admit I was curious about how the two of them would start talking but in the end I really liked the twists of the story.I really admire Caleb and his decisions. The final need he has is totally understandable by me.As for Maggie, she surprised me many times by her actions. For me to start a book with sequels about the same characters is rare because most of the time they are not interesting enough to want to read a second or third book about them. But this book's characters make me want to know everything about them. Before I finish this review though, I have to add that the one who I loved the most in the book was Mrs Reynolds. Her way of teaching so many things was admirable. She makes the perfect grandma :)

You jump into this book, and you're a little unsure of what to expect. It opens with a man in a typical fantasy setting using some serious magic. Then it jumps to a young woman using more magic, but this time in what would appear to be a real-world setting sometime between the 1920's to the 1990's. Welcome to the world of Ancelstierre and the Old Kingdom. Not to mention Life and Death. You will quickly become sucked into it, and demand more. To a minor extent, the characters of Sabriel and Touchstone do suffer a little from plot-drivenness, but they are still likeable, definitely not Mary-Sues, and the next two books do not sacrifice characterisation at all. This book is intensely readable.

I was completely enveloped in Cather's scenery and story up until the very end. The last third of the book left me a little emptier than the first two-thirds. Very well done, overall, however. No language. I'd recommend it for readers 16 years and older.

Band Geek Love, By Josie Bloss As a former band geek, so many of the events in this book rang true to me. Ellie Snow is a trumpet section leader and super serious about band. On the last day of band camp a sophomore trumpet shows up and needs to be integrated into the line. Anyone who was in marching band knows this is a huge pain in the neck, requiring extra practice, and sometimes the rearranging of drills that everyone else has already learned. But Ellie takes it to a level unheard of in my band, acting like she has the option of telling the band director that the kid can't join. That didn’t make any sense at all for her to have that much authority. Throughout the novel we discover that Ellie had a huge crush on a senior trumpet when she was in 9th grade and that ended with complete humiliation. Since then she has not dated anyone and has become very moody, and private, and paranoid about people judging her for anything other than her musical skills. Conner, the sophomore trumpet, turns out to be a love interest for Ellie. However, she blows the thing way out of proportion by being so scared and uptight about dating a sophomore and letting other people know about it. Connor also acts somewhat strange and like he has secrets. But when his secret comes out, it is so trivial, and not even worthy of the secrecy he employed. But Ellie totally freaks out, over something that I might think was funny or embarrassing, she acts like she’s totally been betrayed. I liked the book because it was related to marching band, but most of it wasn’t about marching band, but about Ellie’s ever growing and pulsating ego. She was mean and self centered and overreacted and lashed out at everyone, about everything! There is a sequel coming out this month: “Band Geeked Out” but I was so turned off by the protagonist that I don’t know if I’ll be checking that one out. Here’s a tip for all authors, if you make us hate your main character, it will be hard for us to like the story as a whole. ~Lindsay~
This book is epic.

This is an amazing book, follows the life of a young italian girl, her abmitions and falling in love with the wrong person! A tear jerker from start to fin.
