I'm a sucker for these kind of books that just tell your kid how much you love them. This one has cute polar bears in it. Also see "Guess How Much I Love You" and "Daddy Kisses" for similar books, though those skew a little younger and this one is good for ages 4-6, I think.

Having just finished this, the fourth book in the series, and read the little postscript by the author at the end I can imagine feeling extremely frustrated by the wait for the fifth novel which did not come out the following year as promised. For four books I have been unable to put down the tales of the Lannisters, the Starks, and the other families of this saga and I am looking forward to the fifth. However, now that I am thoroughly bewitched by all of the characters my main concern is that Mr. Martin will not be able to bring me more tales and bring them quickly enough.

A frenetic read! The things are happening in the speeder's light. In the most times in a car or another vehicle on the road, the reader fly by the USA with 'Kerouac' and his pseudonyms-friends.
Re-reading...

Hochschild has a gift for turning horrific history into entertaining reading. The characters of this tale truly come to life, and the story chugs along as if this were a plot-driven novel. There's also a cheering message: only the oppressed can free themselves, but committed people of conscience can help.

On Thursday, April 23, 2009 I wrote: Finished this book last night. It was hard to read but I felt glad that I knew that this woman was in prison. After I read it I looked her up and discovered Thomas (child C) had also wrote a book about this case, called Child C) I do not plan to buy it cause I think Alloma did tell it like it was.
I loved this book. I knew I would enjoy it. It had an Austen type feel but with espionage and a murder. Very fun read.

This book is so great and fun that I don 't want to finish it! I suppose I could read it again though. Such a wonderful Xmas gift from mom and dad!

This little "chick-lit" book was better than I expected. There was more real human interaction and relationship-study than usual in these books. Actually a pretty involving love story.

Stephenson has become one of my favourite writers over the past year. Every book by him that I've read so far, I liked. 'Quicksilver', the first part of the Baroque Cycle, is no exception. Quicksilver is, in a some ways, not as akin to the cyberpunk and sci-fi works Stephenson is famous for as you'd expect. In fact, it is more of a historical precursor to 'Cryptonimicon'. It is however, science fiction in a quite literal sense. The history and development of science (as well as economical and political developments) play a major role in this novel, with people like Isaac Newton, Christiaan Huygens, Leibniz, and the Royal Society of England filling in side roles. At the same time, there quite some adventure in the novel as well, with a considerable amount of swashbuckling and spying going on, and a whole lot of political intrigue. I guess this is what makes Stephenson's works so appealing, a combination of sophisticated backgrounds with exciting plotworks. The stage has been set in 'Quicksilver', and though it's a hefty read at over 900 pages, it was worth the effort, and I wonder what'll turn up in parts two and three.
