Liked this one even better than Wicked. I guess it took me the better first third of Wicked to get the geography, and socio-economics of Oz into my head, before I could appreciate that one. This one flowed much better for me.

i learned that Ayn Rand isnt a very good writer. and that by page 500 you cease to care about 75 different characters all with the same point of view. That said its an important insight as to why capitalists belive they are in the right so often.

Interesting. Of course I had to read it because it was about vampires. And it was definitely unique. Just not that great.

Books get props if I am able to shed a tear AND chuckle. This one succeeded.

really informative, eye-opening, enlightening, all those things. not only about the health detriments of fast-food, but the problems w/in the entire industry and how they affect this country and the world. definitely the kind of nonfiction i enjoy and aspire to write one day. also, i might never eat another chicken mcnugget. support your local in-n-out burger!

Carrie is a writer of historical fiction. She globetrots in order to find the perfect settings for her books. The current novel is set during the Jacobite revolution of 1708 in Scotland. And Carrie finds the perfect site to write in a cottage set in a tiny town on the northeastern coast with the view of the Slains castle ruin. Carrie finds herself drawn into the story through the eyes of her own ancestor, who played a witness role to many of the events of the failed invasion attempt. Only Carrie finds herself writing details about the lives of those involved that she couldn't possibly know. I loved this book. Both the historical and modern romances are sweet and not overly done. And the setting of the revolution was really interesting to me. I generally read novels set in later years, so most of the books I've read have a decidedly anti-Stewart tone. I wouldn't call myself totally pro-James, but I liked the viewpoint nonetheless.
