don't bother with the movie (only do, once you've read the book, and waited a few years so the pot twists are somewhat surprising again). and if it's too late and you've seen the movie, read it, it's better. the style of drawing was just aight for me dawg. pitchy in parts, just aight.

Watchmen was my third graphic novel to read & I must admit it was a little challenging following the story line in the beginning. My son and his friends introduced me to graphic novels & they are an occasional welcome change to my normal reading. I especially liked the discussion on owls and the section about the Red Armageddon. In Dave Gibbons thanks to the readers, he summed up the possible thoughts of readers when he said, "We know it hasn't been easy, but we hope it's been worthwhile.....I've always found Alan's writing challenging and inspirational, and never more so than in his script for the "Dr. Manhattan on Mars" issue, where the good Doctor addresses what I feel is the central question posed by the series: "Who makes the world?" Some of my favorite quotes from the book are as follows: "Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you." Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche "...But the world is so full of people, so crowded with these miracles that they become commonplace and we forget." Dr. Manhattan "As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light of meaning in the darkness of mere being." C. G. Jung, MEMORIES, DREAMS, REFLECTIONS
unexpected ending! i really am addicted na to this series. click here for more book reviews. ***** His face clouded with pain, and he turned away. Guilt stabbed at me, but in the end, the choice had always been clear. whoa! to think that i loved the first one, but this is better! Julie Kagawa, i believe you are an evil incarnate. you torture me with your words! but oh, how i love the pain. :D so after Ash completed his part of the bargain, it was now Meghan's turn. Go to the winter court. Imagine how scared Meghan was because the winter fey are not friendly. especially to summer fey (and regent) like her. but while she's staying there and enduring the constant bullying of winter fey, an unlikely attack was made and so the Summer-Winter court war began again. Not to mention that the Iron fey are advancing on the Neverland. Meghan is growing up. she realizes that there is no more escaping the fey life that she was destined to have. she fights. she stands her ground. and she loves - no matter what the consequences are. but she's still irritating and childish at times. Puck. crap, he's starting to grow on me. not only is he funny, but he is steadfast in what he feels for Meghan. “I wouldn’t defy Oberon for just anyone. But, for you…” He leaned forward, touching his forehead to mine. “I’d come back from the dead for you." i was seriously considering of switching teams, on to Team Puck! but no, Ash owns my heart. *blushes* "Forgive me," Ash murmured, and I heard the faintest of tremors beneath his voice. "But I can't...I won't...give her up. Not now, when I've just found her." Ash is in conflict. follow his heart or follow her Queen's order? because of this, he constantly treats Meghan hot-and-cold. which made her doubt if there really is something between them. which made ME doubt if i should really be on Team Ash. i cried for Ironhorse. i admit i don't like him in book 1, but here... he stole my heart with his loyalty and servitude. from hate, i've come to love him. waaahhh! This is Meghan's and Puck's adventure but the author created it in a way that you still won't forget Ash. Only in the end did my confidence in Ash came back. Marry me, won't you, Ash? ;-) the transition of the story from book 1 to book 2 was flawless. it doesn't give time for me to think about anything else but this! Meghan and Ash. Puck and Meghan. Ironhorse. Virus (i hate you, b*tch). Queen Mab (you terrify me). Leanansidhe (oh, you're funny). it didn't bother me that technology was the reason behind Neverland's destruction. after all, modernity really sucks everything out of nature, right? i'm wasting time, i need to start the next book! You're here, and the only dance I want is this one.
HOLY SHIT YES I have a crush

I couldn't put this book down. It was a fascinating look at disease and character. It is certainly well-written with its descriptions, research, and depth. That said, the end of the book completely turned me off from recommending it to friends. Though the whole story is intense and sometimes strange, the ending is too extreme, too modern in tone, too unbelievable.

Started great, couldn't finish
I'm never ever going to go against my better judgment and ignore reviews again. Seriously, the notes I made throughout this whole book mostly consists of 'stupid, stupid, STUPID'. Everyone in the book keeps going on about how smart and quick-witted the heroine is, but I failed to catch even a single example of a reasonably well-thought-out decision, much less anything particularly clever. Her lack of self-awareness is appalling; she has completely no notion of her own faults and barely grows as a character by the end. Then again, I can't blame her because it seems everyone else in the book is just as blind to her silliness. This book is full of idiots. Nasty personalities as her previous guardians had been, I wondered for a moment if they didn't have something there in their distaste for the heroine.

This book was clearly designed to wrap up the series. This certainly is not a book to pick up this series with. Two ghosts (characters we have met previously in the series) help out a young mixed-racial, under-age prostitute. Due to the content there, multiple instances of attempted rape, physical and sexual violence, and more of Anthony's philosophizing about the uncontrollable sexual urges of men this is not a great choice for younger fantasy readers or those who just like to avoid that sort of thing.
OMG i read it like in 24 hrs! It's good, really good if you like things happening and not slow and steady. It has action, romance, and a little bit of philosophy (it makes you wonder our living style and which fraction do you belong with and stuff like that) It was fun to read, and simple. Light reading? I think that's how you call it. I feel happy after reading it :)
It turns out that Steve Martin knows about women. And here all I know about is King Tut.
