Another brilliant Jack Reacher book, a little violent in places but the subject matter warranted it...you've got to love the vigilante!

Bill Bryson is a wonderful writer - on of my favourite authors, in fact - but this is one of the few books of his that I probably won't pick up for a 2nd time. It's humourous, interesting, and engaging in the same way that I find all Bryson's books, but something about the team-up with his old 'friend' Katz, and the disjointed nature of the sum of their efforts didn't quite work for me.

I don't think I was the right demographic for this book, but it was still a good novel. Lisa wasn't the perfect protagonist, but she worked well as Famine - never entirely sure what was right or wrong, just as she wasn't able to tell inside her own head, either.

My prof agreed with the assertion (I forgot who originated) that this is the most important novel of the twentieth-century. Read it!
the new sleeping beauty??? very interesting book... its like reading a movie. and it would be a great one for a book club... so someone else can tell me what it means! "If you really want to know something, you have to be willing to pay the price." "Its true though: time moves in its own special way in the middle of the night," the bartender says, loudly striking a book match and lighting a cigarette. "You can't fight it." "Let me tell you something, Mari. The ground we stand on looks solid enough, but if something happens it can drop right out from under you. And once that happens, you've had it: things'll never be the same. All you can do is go on living alone down there in the darkness." In this world, there are things you can only do alone, and things you can only do with somebody else. It's important to combine the two in just the right amount.
Some of de Lint's early stories. Interesting and not as sophisticated as his later works but enjoyable nonethe less.
Fantastic, absolutly fantastic for so many reason. Felt a bit sad about he flock splitting up, but was thrilled that they got together in the end. And the way Fang managed to activate the children over the world fantastic. And Max finally finding out who her real parents was :o) Just loved it.
