Redcube Software redcubesoftware — The Broken Blue Line is a book that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I love mysteries with suspense, and a little bit of romance thrown in for some smiles and laughs. I have to say that The Broken Blue line did not disappoint me. I found the characters very endearing and able to appreciate them. I did find myself confused when I first started reading the book. I was getting the characters confused. The Broken Blue Line is about Internal Affairs and crooked cops. Those styles of books are always very interesting reads. When I read books like this I always visualize it in real life and not just being fiction. Most of these books I feel are based on some actual facts. Turner is a memeber of IA and soon becomes the focus of an investigation. I found it interesting how the members of his squad were divided about him. Turner's partner and friend, Reggie and Miller are the ones who want to help Turner prove his innocence and at the same time capture the real cop that is their prime suspect. Reggie is the one that doesn't mind breaking the rules and circumvention authority to get to the truth. Miller is the wise craking one that doesn't like authority. Turner, Reggie and Miller work well together and make the best IA team even though the one boss hates them. I hope to read more books by Connie Dial.

Karolis Strautniekas strautniekas — This book is a Prequel to Welcome to the World Baby Girl, a book I really enjoyed. However, I was disappointed in this one. It is background to all the characters that were in the first one. At time I reall got bored with it. Had I not read Welcome Home, I would have never finished it.

David Szkodon dszkodonb92b — I wonder if such a place as this actually exists? The story alternates between the past and the present. The main character, Robbie, is a pretty sheltered kid. Various events take place - his uncle going off to war, a new teacher who seems to hate him, and this new kid who is a friend yet not a friend. Ryan's character was very interesting and I would have liked to know more about him. What was the obsession with construction sites? What happened to his sister? Would Ryan still have latched on to Robbie if the teacher had assigned someone else to assist Ryan on that first day? Could the boys have grown up together as friends if Ryan had not been killed? I like this book because it made me wonder about all those things and more. The characters were less character-y than other books; they had more depth, less stereotypical behavior. All the characters had good points and bad points, with the exception of Uncle Grant, perhaps. Ryan and Robbie weren't likable or unlikable, they just were. Good book.
