Aug Kim danyglen — When Pat first told me that she was reading a book about the making of the Oxford English Dictionary, I immediately thought snoresville. However despite the seemingly boring subject, this book was a fascinating page-turner! The characters are intriguing, the settings enthralling, and even the details on the making of the dictionary itself drew me in. I would highly recommend it (and not in order to doze off in the evening!).

Ana Orquera aniorquera — ** spoiler alert ** I read some of reviews of this book published here. It seems most of people love or hate it. Well, I'm not so sure about myself. I can't say it was one of the best books I have even read. On the other hand, I didn't hate it. Actually, it was quite good and entertaining. Just a book you want to read in your free time. What I didn't like about this book was the main male character. Jamie is 23, lives in 18th century and is still virgin. Well, it happens. But I hated him when he showed his complete ignorance about everything in this matter - I just couldn't believe it was possible that an educated man knew nothing about sex. And I truly hate men who replay in every second sentence something like "Yes, my father was right about it". I don't see why should Claire stay with Jamie, having a lovely, adult husband in 20th century, especially reading all the time that she truly loved him. Still, I'm going to read the next book of this saga.

Kshitij Srivastava kshitij0112 — An interesting premise...reptilian aliens invading earth in the middle of WWII. But there is a definite lack of authorial skill at work here. Characters, plotting, story, dramatic incident are all flat and predictable. Dialogue is the worst kind of popular tripe. In the end it was a painful challenge just to finish the book. I gave it two stars rather than one because the premise was amusing. If the writing had spent more time on constructing characters and fleshing out these I would have given it three. Needs an editor badly. This is a shame because I was looking forward to the series. Not recommended
