Lucy Catalina luckita17 — (4.5 stars) Little Bee is a Nigeria refugee. Sarah is a magazine editor living in suburban London. This is a story about how their lives are connected, what circumstances made that connection so strong, and how their relationship unfolds. And all with great insight within the story of how each of them got to where they are. Told in alternating perspectives this was a story that I could not put down. I had to find out the back story and then I had to find out how it all ended. A book that will not disappoint, although it may leave you with a heavy heart.

Christian Johannessen christianmosbaek — I really enjoyed this first of a series and intend on delving into the others! I am surprised by the way Patterson was able to nail 4 different characters of women, being a man. I liked their characters, I liked the plot and twists and I loved that Patterson did not feel the need to wrap everything in a bow and give a happily ever after to his readers-it was gut wrenchingly ironic.

Eduardo Dos eduardosts — Spartan, by Valerio Massimo Manfredi is an action fiction based on Greek nation Sparta. The main character, Talos, was born in a Spartan family, but becuase he is defected, he was abandoned by his family in the mountains. He was later saved and raised by a Helot sheperd. When Talos grew up, he had a conflict with his own blood related spartan brother. I really like the story line of this book, and the vocabulary is right around my ability. I like this book, because it does not have over exggerating scenes. While is it facinating at times, the book keeps the story simple. This book might contain a certain degree of violence, therefore i recommend it to mainly people who perfer intense actions.

Mohammad Farjanul farjanul3d — In today's political climate, it often DOES seem as if militant groups are gaining power. This book takes it turn with the US government, infusing it with zealots who believe in rituals from centuries ago. Like the DaVinci Code, it is ALL FICTION, but it is a good read and lends some insight as to how political systems could end up if we allow too many people from the same "group", be it religious, ethnic, or otherwise, to hold office (or other positions of power) and implement legislation that affects the world. Superb reading!
