Natalia Viteri nartynate — I enjoy the writing of P. D. James. The setting of this book is an island off the coast of Cornwall. Ms. James uses words best when she sets the mood of the location. Her words to describe this isolated island was the best reason to read this book. It is a mystery, and as usual with this author, she doesn't disapoint in that area either.

Rio Budiman riobudiman — This was a quick, enjoyable read for my tween daughter and I. I found the plot a bit predictable, but DD was kept guessing until the reveal. We were both annoyed by the numerous places where the wrong homophone made it into the final copy (examples: "died" for "dyed" and "heard" for "herd"). The representation of the game world was extremely streamlined and simplified, but captured the flavor well enough I didn't mind. The RL bullying may have been over the top, but books where the conflict isn't larger than life tend to be less interesting and this one needed something to keep it moving forward.

Kim Hawks _im_awks — still reading this, but from the first 100pgs so far, it's polished, rounded writing. the memories from his childhood are pregnant with meaning and symbolism: lizards, surfing waves, papelitos rojos, security guy at an airport. He tells you what he and his friends did with lizards, then mentions something later in the chapter and ties it back to lizards with such elegance. Then in the next chapter, that symbol is mentioned again in a different context, thus adding unifying themes and adding cohesion. it's exactly what my fiction writing teacher tried to teach us to do. As you're reading, key artifacts from his childhood keep swirlinging in your mind and he never lets you completely forget them b/c all of a sudden he'll bring it back to papelitos rojos or waves or lizards again.

Hosam Shebl _osam_hebl997 — I love almost anything like a historical biography. This was a good book I simply hard a time trying to get into it.
