Ismael Saldivar ismael_aldivar — Cute book with a feisty heroine. The book surprised me with a bit more violence than I was expecting, but it's not done in a distasteful way. It is a book about a girl that can see, talk and touch ghosts. Ghosts are dead people, so obviously they won't have all passed away peacefully in their sleep. Some will be angry. Suze's job is as a mediator and she helps ghosts move on in her own special way (often involving her fists). I guess I was expecting a little more from the book. This if the first Meg Cabot YA book other than Abandon that I've read. I wanted to know more about Heather and why she was the way she was. I realize that this is the first book of a series, so I know other characters will get filled out, like Jesse, but the book just felt a little light to me. But I still enjoyed the book and found Doc/Dave to be adorable, and it was nice to have an albino character in a book that wasn't there just for comic relief or as the villain. I really hope Meg Cabot has a new Heather Wells book in the works!

Mafalda Vilela _afaldavil5674 — J. K. Rowling really came through! The Harry Potter series will be a classic for many generations of children, teens, and adults. I was worried at times (because of certain parts) during this last book that it would deviate from what had been a very terrific story, but in the end I found this book, and the entire series, fascinating and special. This 7th book and books 3 and 1 are my favorite three books in the series, but this series of 7 books tell a single story; it’s really one big book, and it’s a truly great one. (And it's 4,100 pages for the American regular print hardcover editions.) This is a serious work, even though it’s a fantasy, and even though there is much humor; it contains an incredibly detailed world and fabulous characters are in it. There are multiple deaths, including those of beloved characters, but there is so much joy and hope, and I left this series in an uplifted mood. There are wonderful messages about the values of courage, love, loyalty & friendship, belonging, responsibility, and doing the morally right things in life. I adore this book and this series. Among my favorite all time books and I’m an avid reader. Books 1 & 2 and maybe 3 for 7 & up. Books 4-7 for 8 & up. Depending on the kid. And up means all ages!

Anindra Ahmad _nindra_arras — A little too political (but can you blame her? She must deal with so much misinformation!), but lots of intimate details of a very unique life.

Santiago Loaiza _antiaguistico — An interesting collection of stories with vibrant characters. One of my great-grandmother's favorite books. A classic.

Magoo Felix _ — I really enjoyed this book and the first four of the series. It was a fun and different spin on the whole Vampire scene. I won't review every book in the series, so I'll just voice my overall opinion right here. The biggest pet peeve with this series is how often the books and chapters recount the story over and over again. I understand refreshing the readers memory of things that happened, but introducing each and every charact with their entire life's story EVERY time they are introduced is a bit redundant. I eventually stopped reading the series because of this. Another aspect of the books that eventually turned me off is how much darker every book seems to get. I loved Stevi Ray, and found the idea of red fledglings exicting... but eventually it was just too much drama with too many love interests to keep me interested.
