** spoiler alert ** See the full review at: Read My Mind My Review: I read all kinds of romance, but there's something about a book that explores a woman's desire to fulfill one of her fantasies that I really am intrigued by. COPPING TO IT does just that, with the female lead, Claire. It seems as if she is caught in a bad situation all too easily, and ends up in the clutches of a ne'er do well bike gang that uses public sexual acts, as a way to initiate its members. Of course, the person that she is "given" to, is long-time crush, and undercover cop, Ty. And, so begins her fantasy to be a bad girl with this man that she has loved for many years. I quite enjoy a good friends-to-lovers story, but I am not so keen on the unrequited (until some inciting event happens to tip the male character over the edge) trope that can happen in romance. It's interesting how Meyers managed to somewhat blend both aspects of these tropes into something different. Ty certainly has feelings for Claire, but his undercover work has prevented him from acting on anything. On another hand, he obviously sees Claire in a new light when he realized her intense desire to act on, what most women might consider forbidden fantasies, especially in light of the inherent danger they could both be in, if the stand-in leader of the biker gang discovers Ty's real identity. All in all, I really enjoyed the intense heat between Claire and Ty and the way that the semi-public (or voyeuristic) sexual scenes were written. The pacing is done extremely well; there is an m/f/m scene that happens when the characters should be trying to make their escape, but the briefness of the interlude, and the danger they might be in by delaying is kept in the forefront. I didn't feel that this paused the plot, in any way. Looking for a milder, quick read that illuminates a sexual fantasy that both men and women could enjoy? Look no further than COPPING TO IT. It will get your pulse pounding, and keep you on the edge of your seat with a story line that expands slightly beyond the sexual content. 3.5/5 for plot 4/5 for characters 4/5 for language My Rating: 11.5/15 (3.5 stars) Highly Recommended, if you liked: Never have I Ever by Alisha Rai Talk Dirty to Me by Ginny Glass

The latest installment of the Earth Children series I think was very strong and good in the story, but I also feel that it starts to diverge off from the rest of the books. You can almost tell there was a more than 10 year break between "Plains" and "Shelters".

OK. It's not four stars because it's well written... or has great character development....but, something made me want to keep reading until I was done! Very fast and entertaining.. nothing more.

Well, I do not suggest you get this book as an "Anniversary gift"...

One of my all time favourite books. The love that Cecilia and Robbie shared was so pure and heartbreakingly beautiful. Briony, too young to understand is very easy to relate to. Will always be my favourite book. I also suggest if already read this book or tossing up whether to read it, watching the movie is a MUST.

Reading for book group. We are also looking at Shakespeare's Antony & Cleopatra as well as Plutarch's Life of Antony. It's obvious how Plutarch is the grandfather, Shakespeare the child and Dryden the grandchild. I found the differences between the two plays interesting. Shakespeare's is sprawling with high-flown emotion and intense character study, as you would expect. The Dryden looks to the tradition of Shakespeare but it is all toned down in its attempt to have the play observe the classic unities. The play really rockets forward to its climax and I imagine it would be very effective in live performance. Shakespeare's play is one of his greatest but it often strikes me as a great play to read and not a great play to see. The few performances of it that I have seen or heard have borne that out. Dryden's Cleopatra is a much diminished figure from Shakespeare's mercurial, emotional Queen. Both Antonys are men acknowledging the doom of their fate, but Dryden puts up more of a fight......... I'm glad to have had the opportunity to read all three pieces together.

The Homecoming of Samuel Lake is set in 1956 Southern Arkansas, in a farming community like so many in rural areas in the mid-1950’s. Moses family tradition is that every first Sunday in June is set aside for a big family reunion. Nothing gets in the way of their family reunion - no matter what, that reunion is sacrosanct and you are expected to be there if you’re a member of the Moses family. Goodness knows Calla and John Moses’ 100-acre family farm is big enough to hold a lot of family and it’s a good thing since they had five kids who now have kids of their own.
