The first of the series, I actually had to wait for my local library to transfer this book so I could read it. I originally thought it looked interesting, and looked forward to reading it. However, I found myself disappointed. Although it had it's bright points, I found myself skipping over many, many pieces of the book, either because the plot was moving super slow, or whenever she (the main character) had DETAILED "physical interaction" between her and her current lover. Perhaps I am being a little conservative, but because of the focus on Joanne's bedroom activities, the story line and characterization lost important detail that would have improved this work. The unnecessary additions, and lack of strong characters and storyline transfigured a unique and interesting idea into a confusing piece of weak material. Had the idea been more developed, instead of Joanne's flirtatious conquests, maybe I would have enjoyed this book.

** spoiler alert ** Genre: Thriller The Lying Game by Sara Shepard is about a girl named Emma who finds out that she has a long lost twin sister, Sutton. When she gets in contact with her, Emma hadn't realized that Sutton didn't talk to her - Sutton was dead. As Emma is blackmailed into acting like Sutton, she has to figure out who killed her sister, before things get worse. I liked this book a lot. There was a lot of mystery and it kept me hooked. One thing I didn't like was that it is just like her Pretty Little Liars series because blackmail and murder is involved with anonymous notes. Sometimes it got confusing what was going on because the characters kept changing between Sutton and Emma. Sutton would always be italicized but then it wasn't actually her. The good thing about this book is that you honestly don't know who killed Sutton. At first you think it's one person, then another, then a group of people and then you're confused again. This book keeps you hooked because you don't always know what' going to happen. I recommend this book to anyone who loves thrillers.

LOLZ-4-EVER and so much more. I just re-read this for approx. the hundredth time. Goodreads needs a feature where you can have a little counter that counts when you've read something a hundred times. Then it becomes, like, a superbook. In short, R&G is seriously a superbook. Seriously.
I'm not one for touchy-feely self help books, but this one was recommended by a friend and it tought me a wonderful lesson that I still hold onto today - don't take everything so damn personally.

This is one thick book! Seems like it took forever for me to read it, not only because it's long, but because it's very dark. Some of the story lines were really intense, dealing with alcoholism, depression, sexual abuse, etc. It is extremely well written and even though the subject matter is often quite horrible, the author manages to inject enough humor to keep the reader from sinking into despair right along with the characters. If you're looking for light and summery fiction, this isn't the book to read. But if you're looking for chick lit with some teeth, look no further.
Fascinating theory of how personal building blocks and minute changes can suddenly (and sometimes drastically) alter social events and fads. A little technical and redundant, but really gets you thinking about what really drives our society.
Sorry to all of those who liked it but this is the worst book i have ever red. I DO NOT like it bad bad bad. It was sad and weird. To all of those who love fanasty this is not the book for you

Candle 79 is probably the best restaurant (anywhere, ever), but the recipes are 1) way too time-intensive; 2) unreliable; and 3) filled with annoying ingredients. There are a few amazing ones; the seitan steaks can't be beat. But most of it ... Don't pay $20 for 'stupid things to do with phyllo dough' or a tapenade recipe that could be condensed into 3 lines.
My most favorite book as a child. I will forever remember my 3rd grade teacher reading the Peanut Butter Sandwich with a deep gruff voice.
