Quick, interesting (and kind of a wild) read--it really changed the way I listen and think about people's conversations!

It is so much great... It is considered a Theatre of Absurd play. some how Existentialistic clues are traced in it... It is a parody on human life and the whole universe. this two tramps Didi & Gogo represent all of us and their simple barren scene is the whole world. They wait for Godot who is never to come and they are in the process of reduction to nothingness...

She couldn't just ignore him Kate had always known that her dynamic boss, Gregory Courtney, possessed more than his fair share of arrogance. Only recently had she realized he was also charming, attractive... and dangerous. "Just what would it take to get you into my bed, Kate?" he asked. A self-confessed cynic, he believed in passion but not in love, while nothing less than love would induce Kate to give up her independence. Yet there was an attraction between them, a flame which soon blazed out of control. Not bad at all!! Obviously he was a cynic and didn't believe in love but he believed in sex, so he made her an offer she couldn't refuse. He helped her family and he was really good with everyone. In the end he made amends with her. a very good story.

The first half of this book if fantastic. I found myself involved in the characters and the story and this history that I didn't know much about. But, in the middle it changes and starts to focus on new characters. I understood why, but wanted it to be done better. It almost felt like a whole new book and I was frustrated.

I read this as a part of my voyage of self-discovery and self-diagnosis. I probably should have read this one first. It's a great introduction to what Aspergers is, and it's not prone to condescension the way the first book I read on the topic was. Is this me or is it not? I'm not a psychologist, but I sure feel like my personal experiences fall right in line with what I'm reading about. Anyway, Attwood's book is a must read for anyone with Aspergers or high functioning autism in their life or work. Now that I've read it, I feel ready to get cracking on my own memoir/weirdo manifesto.

this one's better than the movie. less glamorous, better character development.

Simply written but extremely powerful, Eric Hoffer used to be a long-shoreman and just wrote down his observations. This book is scary not only for what it can tell us about the "true believers" of mass movements, but what it can tell us about human nature, ourselves. A must read in a War on Terror age!

Best book ever. This book is a little bit of everything. It's hard to say what it's best quality is. The extended timeline seems to irritate some people, but I think it had enough relevant material throughout to work as both several vignettes and as one long story. I particularly appreciated how all the characters were connected but rarely had any knowledge of it. On the whole, I'd say I enjoyed the highly imaginative quality of this book most of all. To transition from a historical fiction setting into a post-apacolyptic setting and then back again requires skill, and I think, guts as well. This book was well thought out and believable. Much appreciated.

My first introduction to Discworld was with this book and I immediately consumed all the City Watch-related fare before gradually expanding to Death, and the Witches and Wizards. I honestly don't know what is the best way to immerse yourself into Discworld because it honestly took me a second visit after the Watch ones to really get into 'The Colour of Magic.'
