The Scorpio Races is my new favorite book. Even though I absolutely loved the Shiver series, and the writing in that trilogy was just so beautiful, I didn't know that Maggie Stiefvater could write like this. Everything was just...moving, beautiful, funny, and incredible. I absolutely adored it. Let's hope there's a sequel in the works!

This memoir, feels similar to Ondaatje or Guterson in the sense that it is Jane Brox's memoir, but she is not the main fixture, instead the land of the Merrimack Valley, and its orchards over the course of industrialization of the region are its focus. It's also an immigrant narrative, of sorts, as Brox tells stories of her own family's immigration to the U.S. and their interaction with the history of the land and landscape.

Who doesn’t love The Vicar of Dibley? The version I read didn’t have the bright cheerful dust jacket on, it was just a red hardback book. It looks intimidating, but once you open the cover, there is simply joy inside. There are selected scripts, although after doing some research, I discovered that there are only some of the first series episodes missing, and of course anything since the book was released. The text was interspersed with biography style pictures, plus a few new additions in the form of notes, drawings and scribbles. It’s brilliant, and the sort of book I can pick up in a few years and enjoy it all over again.
