It's not bad...but I wonder if it doesn't improve. I certainly hope it improves. There are already a lot of morally ambiguous comics out there. Also, crime comics are no longer rare. So what makes this one so special? The first volume gave me no answer. The story (both stories) are interesting enough, and the art is very good, but it seems cliche. The only originality comes from the barrio scenes in the first story, given that a lot of crime comics prefer idealized noir to realistic grit. It's admirable that Azzarello doesn't pull any punches with his depiction of urban life, but that's the only thing that distinguishes 100 Bullets Vol. 1. If you're looking for livelier Azzarello, find Superman: For Tomorrow, or Batman: Broken City.

this book is pretty badly written, but the story is so great and weird--it's a vampire romance written by a mormon. fun, right?

A perfectly nice set of letter blocks slowly disappear. Lisa Campbell Ernst takes us on a journey to find the blocks. The search begins and the blocks are all appropriately placed, A is an airplane, B is the bath, until they are all together again. This is a great book to spark ones imagination, it asks, "Soon they will disappear again. Can you guess where they might go?" Great examples to teach the alphabet. The illustrations are directly related to the story, on each page the illustration has the letter being discussed in the picture.
This book is beautifully written and soothing. I can imagine Poitier reading it to me.

I found Orhan Pamuk a profound and brilliant writer. Snow is a gripping political thriller.
I recently listened to this again (after having read it about 10 years ago), and as I remembered it's a little boring. Overall, one has to appreciate it in it's proper historical place; and I'm sure it was griping and racy and all that in it's time. Today, though, it drags a bit and it's kind of hard to swallow most of the male-female relationships. The librivox volunteers did a good job with this, for the most part, though some of the accents were a little over the top.

An adorable take on first love, chalk-full of hilarity. You'll be giggling the whole time :D

At one point in my tweens, I had every single one of this series as well as all the 'specials'. Just wanted to understand what I was missing out on, not growing up in the US!
This 2nd read years later was as good as expected.
