Kiss A delicious romantic comedy by the bestselling author of THE ONE YOU REALLY WANT and THREE AMAZING THINGS ABOUT YOU about finding love again when you think you've lost it all... When Izzy is knocked off her motor bike she doesn't just lose her dignity - she loses as a result not one but two long-term boyfriends, her job and, to boot, her extremely bijou flat. Gina, who caused the accident, has more important things to worry about - her husband's mistress is pregnant and she's suddenly on her own. Why should she care about Izzy? Yet somehow the well-heeled Gina finds herself opening her home to Izzy and her spirited teenage daughter. And it's there that Izzy meets heart-stoppingly handsome Sam, whose lingering kiss is all it takes for her to find the true love that has always eluded her - though there are just a few obstacles between that first kiss and the 'happy ever after'... _igui
Tiguidé Sokhona _igui — I found this book to be really useful. I probably won't add it to my permanent reference collection, but I'm really glad I checked it out of the library. I picked up some useful tidbits, and I got a much better understanding of three act structure, which I kept hearing about from other writers. I also really like that Bell acknowledges that there are different ways of going about plotting. He usually presents alternative ways of doing something and doesn't present any of them as the one true way. Book Source: Free Library of Philadelphia

innoreviews
Renato Costa innoreviews — It's not bad...but I wonder if it doesn't improve. I certainly hope it improves. There are already a lot of morally ambiguous comics out there. Also, crime comics are no longer rare. So what makes this one so special? The first volume gave me no answer. The story (both stories) are interesting enough, and the art is very good, but it seems cliche. The only originality comes from the barrio scenes in the first story, given that a lot of crime comics prefer idealized noir to realistic grit. It's admirable that Azzarello doesn't pull any punches with his depiction of urban life, but that's the only thing that distinguishes 100 Bullets Vol. 1. If you're looking for livelier Azzarello, find Superman: For Tomorrow, or Batman: Broken City.

Fabricio Valandro fabriciovrb625 — I just liked this book. The characters from the beginning, Push Not the River, got my attention and I immediately decided I would read this sequel. Though not as engaging as the first book, this one did seem to wrap up the story line which was nice, so as not to leave me wondering what happened next, but it also went into great detail of Napoleon and his war efforts to secure all of Europe as his empire. Though small in stature, Napoleon could convince thousands to march to his dreams and eventually their deaths. But that is another story. Zofia was my favorite character. I won't say anymore, except that she could handle any situation. We should all have a little Zofia in us.

stevensmer0daf
Steven Mercado stevensmer0daf — Straight-forward and even-handed account of our 40th President. The narrative moves sprightly along (no surprise given the length of the book, covering a two-term presidency), with a balanced presentation of Reagan's accomplishments (detente with the Soviets, recovering some of the people's trust in the federal gov't, especially the White House) and his failures (Iran-Contra, the malaise of the last couple of years, economic instability). I like how Reeves characterizes Reagan's hands-off style, especially compared with his predecessors. I appreciated the emphasis on the relationships between Reagan's staffers and how they fit into the Administration's policy goals. However, I would have liked some more insight into the President as a man. The occasional slivers of insight (such as the analysis of his personality changes after being shot) were more often than not a tease, shallow and fleeting.
