I had wanted to read this for a long time, so my expectations were pretty high. I think I thought the plot was a little bit disappointing (remember I had built this one up) but the descriptions of the caravans, the characters and their lives more than made up for it.

This book is good for folks interested in the personalities of the Court right before Justice Roberts took over as Chief. It's definitely readable for folks not totally up on con law. But it has fair profiles of all the big names - O'Connor, Thomas, etc. As with most Supreme Court writers, the author is too infatuated with his subjects to really be considered as an objective voice, but close enough to the action to offer readers rare insights into the goings on behind the scenes. Working through it now.

So good. UHHHH. SO GOOOOOOD. A retelling of the four wives of Jacob and his daughter, Dinah, relegated to a footnote in history and now, here, her story is told. Gorgeous.
One of the best series of books I've ever read. The first has to be the best, but I couldn't wait to read the next in this entire two trilogy saga.

I learned about database concepts & how to write the SQL codes. This is the good book for design database.
Very entertaining and extremely relatable - all about disillusioned late-20s ivy grads in NYC!

Some good ideas about writing, but the author seems a little too in love with himself.

I confess. I enjoyed this. It's very Oprah's Book Club. It's very Today's book Club. But it was interesting, engaging, and often funny. I stayed up reading this. Sure, it's not literature. Sure, many of the characters are one-dimensional. (See Amazon reviews.) And, sure, it's NOT "To Kill a Mockingbird". But it was more than readable and quite enjoyable. And light... if it's possible for a story set during the Civil Rights Era can be considered light.

Funniest book ever
** spoiler alert ** It was an interesting book. Not what I expected, but I didn't really expect anything. I liked the way every chapter was a sort of short story, since my own books (so far) are like that too. Most of the characters were actually what one (or at least I) would expect from a high end British kids' book, actually. Charicatural, but with some actual depth. Peculiar, that's a good word. Of course I immediately liked Silas and I didn't like that he wasn't flat out called "vampire", but with all those other "vampire" books around lately, I can understand. He's a proper one, based in Dracula's tradition, not the sappy Twilight shit. Towards the end I got actually carried away with the tension and I thought it was a shame that Bod lost his "powers". He became a regular person. In the extras Neil mentions a possible sequel, but I can't really see how that's going to be interesting now Bod can't Fade or see ghosts anymore. One thing I didn't like so much was how mature the four-year-old boy was in his deeds and speech. There really was no difference between how he reacted in the first and last chapter, not in how he spoke, thought, moved etc. Missed chance to show even more character development, I think.
