Loved this book! I felt like the main characters were my family by the time I finished it. Well written.

This book was interesting, but it took me a little while to get into it. I am glad I read it, I don't remember a whole lot of history from school. History is interesting, but I guess I will blame my teachers for not making it as interesting as they could have made it.

ATTRACTED TO FIRE By DiAnn Mills Special Agents Meghan Connors and Bob Lawson have just received their new assignment. They are part of a 6 person security detail for Lindsay Hall under Ash Zinder. Lindsay Hall is the daughter of Presidential hopeful – Vice President Hall and she is the media’s newest shock sensation with her out of control behavior. Lindsey was being sent to a working ranch in Texas for therapy and to hide her away from whoever was threatening her life. But somehow, someway the stalker was following her – sending her emails and text messages from an unknown sender who could not be answered or traced. When Lindsey’s car is blown up outside her apartment the Columbian cartel is suspected. But when people start dying on the ranch the threat becomes personal. Can the agents save Lindsey or will they all be struck down by the unknown stalker. As the case becomes more personal Meghan Connors and Ash Zinder are drawn closer as they focus on those on the ranch as the source of the betrayal that took one of their own. Meghan is convinced Lindsey holds the key to the threats and that she knows her stalker. Little does anyone realize just how far Lindsey’s enemy will go and just how close he is to her and those she loves. Attracted to Fire is an exciting book and fans of DiAnn Mills other works will not be disappointed. Publisher provided digital advanced reader copy for review purposes only.

A great shortened version of the novel, but missing quite a few of the action scenes from the book...especially my favorites with Medusa and the theme park. It follows the movie more than the book I think...another reason I only gave it 3, rather than, 4 stars. But it's a great read for those not ready for the full novel.

I read this when I was a first grader? It was the first chapter book I read by myself, and I still have the "sandwich board" I made for it for my book report to the class. It's pretty grim, why did my parents allow this? Oh wait- my dad loves stories of shipwrecks, so I assume this book was his idea. I used to have all the facts and figures memorized. I also have a deep interest in shipwrecks thanks to this book (and my father, I suppose). Recommended for grade schoolers with odd parents.

Ginny's Aunt Peg was free-spirited and whimsical and magical and unpredictable and wonderful - and then, as suddenly and unpredictably as she had lived, without giving her family any warning at all, she died. A few months later, Ginny recieved a package in the mail from Aunt Peg - a package containing a letter. Contained in the letter was $1000 and instructions to buy a plane ticket to London and visit Aunt Peg's favorite restuarant. At the restuarant, Ginny found the rest of Aunt Peg's package - a packet of thirteen little blue envelopes, with instructions to open each one only after she had completed the task in the previous one. And so off Ginny went to London, to follow Aunt Peg's legacy. This book is one of those rare, nearly perfect teen novels. It is just. so. good. Ginny is an immensely likeable protagonist, and while her adventures backpacking across Europe ought to be fictionally glamorous, they alternate between being wonderful and unglamorously lonely - ie, realistic. There is romance, but not too much of it - enough to keep things interesting, but not the focus of the book by any means. No, this book is about Ginny's journey of discovery - both about herself and about the aunt she's always idolized. It reads poignant and funny and painful and true, with a couple of twists that I didn't expect, but that made perfect sense. I really loved this book.

I was disappointed by the stories in this collection! But I did like when Janet said to Cat, "You must admit, Chrestomanci is taller and darker and handsomer than any man has any right to be!" Haha trufax, Janet.

I actually really enjoyed this Thursday Next novel. I saw it didn't get as good of reviews as the other books, but I thoroughly enjoyed his take on the story, and on leaving you constantly guessing on who the real Thursday was. This was another hit by Fforde. He is by far one of my favorite authors :)

Oh, book. Why do you do this to me? You were so close to being awesome! The combination of Space! and Demons! was great and I enjoyed the characters and their interactions. I'd definitely read the rest of the series, if it existed yet. I was just thrown off by some of the mistakes in the book. The tense changes drove me crazy! I mean, sometimes it changed tense in the middle of a sentence! WHY??? There was also some grammar and word choice issues, but these weren't as annoying as the tense changes. Ok, so some of it was fairly predictable - I mean a guy with trust issues? Of course the woman is going to appear to betray him at some point. But some of the other plot elements I didn't see coming at all. Actually would have been nice if I had seen those coming - it seemed to wander a bit. But overall it made me laugh and it made me like the characters and it made me want to read the rest of them, so WIN!
