I think I may come back to the rating I gave Captivate later and feel bad about it, but my initial reaction is that I didn't want to continue reading after IT happened. And then Zara went and did THAT and I don't think she has though this through at all and I loved Need but Captivate really bothered me from about midway through. I don't really want to read Entice because of what happened.

This is a hilarious book and it made me laugh out loud! Ignatius is a modern day Don Quixote. He is a grown man who still lives with his mother and manages to rankle everyone in his vicinity. His misguided adventures are amusing... heartbreaking... yet hilarious. Anyone who loves "The Office," will love this book. It is painfully hysterical.

Now, I haven't read Temora, but I've read Fingal and some of the other poems of Ossian. This was for my Scottish Enlightenment class and what's most interesting about these poems is the scandal around their authenticity. MacPherson claimed to have found these poems by talking to people in the Scottish highlands and that they were from an ancient Celtic warrior- a Celtic Homer, basically. He said that he translated them from Gaelic in order to preserve and share them with the world. It has since been basically concluded that MacPherson made them up himself. However, they are still fascinating examples of epic poetry but from a culture different from that of ancient Greece.
