WAY not at all what I expected, but overall really good.

I'm not sure I believe the events in the book are anything more than some sort of media stunt or a psychological autosuggestion thing, but it is at least an intriguing story to read.

This book has a really fascinating and imaginative story with complications and it is wonderful until the ending, which wasn't quite so amazing.
This book was pretty much about dealing with life during the death of a family member. It was quite sad at parts, but funny and uplifting at others. It gives you lots of things to think about, and even though I've read other books about the same subject that I liked better, I still enjoyed this one. I liked the characters, and I liked reading about Mira's interactions with her friends and family members, even though I thought they were a little bit unrealistic at times. I think younger readers would enjoy this book alot.

About a creepy man and a naive woman of a certain age - a good page turner.

Superman: The Re-boot. A more brooding, less decisive young Clark Kent must decide whether to expose his truee super human nature and thus give up his 'life,' or remain unknown and have a normal human life. There have been other takes and adaptations on Superman's story, some much darker, some set in the future, one recent one looking at if Kal-El's space ship had crashed near a farm in Soviet Russia instead of Smallville, Kansas, but this one is satisfying in how close to the original it sticks but still making us uncertain if he will stand for truth, justice, and as humanity's defender. Our young hero teeters on the brink until...but don't let me spoil a fine Superman story before you have a chance to read it for yourself!

Les Claypool is a great musician, and it's obvious that he's been working on his bass chops more than his prose. The story is actually pretty good but the writing is pretty bad. It gets extra points for being set in the East Bay. PRIMUS!
I had to read this over the summer for school, along with a really, really great book (The Woman Warrior). i don't understand how this cliched, over-processed crap could've been paired with something so well written. I thought The Glass Castle was just amazingly bad. I mean, it really was amazing: she had an incredible life, yet it still managed to be boring. that's when you know you have to seriously examine your writing style.

Paul Elie writes fantastic sentences. I usually don't read too much biography, but I became so involved in the stories of Flannery O'Connor, Walker Percy, Dorothy Day, and Thomas Mann.
