Didn't finish this one. Hated some of the cliches and it didn't grab my attention. Hated the son (but perhaps unfairly let my own fears of being an old lady with sons intrude on my opinion of the book) and couldn't stand reading any interactions between him and his father. I guess I just wasn't in the mood to feel disappointed and sad.

A LOT better than I ever expected. Gives both sides to the very serious story of the Wicked Witch of the West from Oz (even though no one knew there were 2 sides or that it was a serious story). Totally cool, especially if you ever really liked the Wizard of Oz story (either in print or on the screen, as a child or older person).
Brilliant finale to the trilogy!!! Hard to say goodbye! Review later!

Out of the Boy trilogy, I’d have to say that I like this book the best. The characters are very relatable, Kate and Mitch have a great chemistry throughout the story. There are some down points—again, the best friend character only seems to have one continuing subplot (this time, getting pregnant) with no real further development aside from “the best friend.” I also really didn’t like Amy Jenkins’ or Stuart’s characterization; I realize that they’re supposed to be the antagonists, but the way they acted bordered on being stereotypes, even in their back-and-forths. What really saves the book is Kate—she’s more down-to-earth than Mel or Jane, and I could really see her conflicted nature about what she was supposed to do and doing what she knew was right. (And also, funny! Genuinely laughed a lot more at this.)

Not as good as Divergent. The more I think about this, the more I hate it.

I absolutely loved Chris Cleaves' first book, Little Bee (if you haven't read it yet you should). So I bought this book expecting to be taken on the same fascinating emotional journey I went through with his previous novel. Unfortunately I was left disappointed. I love the concept of this novel, but I can't stand the protagonist, making it impossible for me to sympathize with her. I don't mind sad stories about depressed characters, but every tragic story needs a silver lining. Otherwise they just become too oppressive and unbearable. I failed to find that ray of hope in this novel, making it difficult to get through more than a few pages at a time. The first 6 paragraphs were the best part of the novel. The rest is just a let down. It should have only taken me a day to read this, instead it took me one whole unhappy week!

Je ne suis pas compris la plupart de ce pièce. Comme vous voyez, mon français n'est pas trop bien. Mais, j'ai aimé les blagues sur la merde. Très amusant.

This book is well written, fast paced, and very interesting. It's marketed for young adults, but every adult I know who has read it has loved it. On a Recent Reread: Bella exiles herself to Forks, Washington to live with her father after her mother remarries. Bella is an instant hit with all of the students at Forks High except Edward Cullen. He seems to froth at the mouth just at the sight of her. It turns out, Edward is a vampire and wants to suck her blood - or maybe just fall in love with her. I had forgotten how charming this series is. I giggled and blushed my way through Twilight like a teenager. The writing flowed pretty well, particularly for a first-time novelist. The story is enthralling, and the story arc nicely completes this book while setting up the next. I love these characters. I wanted to be in their world for just a little longer. Good thing there are three more books, eh? *Spoilers* There is SO much foreshadowing in this book. It really adds to the respect I have for Meyer, who clearly had a vision of where this series was going to go. This time through, trying to imagine the ending in store for Bella, everything jumped out at me: Bella’s ability to smell blood, Bella’s hyper-sensitivity and perception, Alice’s description of the process of becoming a Vampire, the bite from James, etc. etc. I can’t wait to see how it all turns out! What do you think? Edward or Jacob? Vampire or human or something in between?
