Lauren Eldridge is hurting. That is why she left town to begin with and never plans on going back. However, when her dad calls needing help with a horse for some big movie, she feels like she must go back to home to Daily, Texas. Nate is a screenwriter and sometime babysitter of big time movie Justin Shay. He. too, feels forced back into screen writing. Excerpt: Daily, Texas, has a way of offering hope, healing, and a little romance just when folks need it most. This was my first read by Lisa Wingate. I really enjoyed it and plan on reading any of her other books that I can find.

i enjoyed this for every reason but the love story. austen was a lot smarter than people give her credit for...too bad people only see the mushy stuff and not her brilliant commentaries on class struggle.

Typical Jane Austin knockoff. Never can match up to Jane.

This episode was really good. I mean, the main mystery was good, and even though the subplot was necessary to the main story, it was a little underdeveloped. But this story was very intense. It made me really sad at the end because something really tragic happens because of some jerks who decide to start shooting people! It's sad, but good.

Please see notes about Middlesex. A little bit campier and less dynamic than Middlesex, but that's why you should read them both. Of course.

I was disappointed but the book was OK. A lot of hype about it ands I had hoped it was more like the Kiterunner but it was not at all. These characters were not likeable but were just thugs.

So close and yet so far. This book had potential to be a very good read but it just doesn't make the grade. This is the second book by Elle Jasper and follows the story of Riley Poe from where it left off with Afterlight. Riley now has vampires tendencies after receiving the venom from two very old Romanian vampires. She starts to have strange dreams one of Victorian Arcos one of the vampires who bit her and one of a monster going round viciously killing young women. Riley and her gang of vampires try to find the murderer and stop him. The story just revolved around Riley passing out having a vision dream waking up having sex with her vamp boyfriend and being incredibly stubborn. In the first half of the book nearly every other word is wicked which was very annoying. The book could be so much more, the characters need fleshing out more and more suspense needs adding to the story. All in all could have been better.

Excellent and well written story about two boys who are exiled to a remote village during China's cultural revolution to be re-educated. The harshness of their life is heart wrenching. Their only escape is a stash of forbidden western classic literature. I wasn't quite sure what to make of the ending and won't say anything else in case I ruin it for someone else. From back cover: "In this enchanting tale about the magic of reading and the wonder of romantic awakening, two hapless city boys are exiled to a remote mountain village for re-education during China's infamous Cultural Revolution. There they meet the daughter of the local tailer and discover a hidden stash of Western classics in Chinese translation. As they flirt with the seamstress and secretly devour these banned works, they find transit from their grim surroundings to worlds they never imagined." This was a very quick read.
