the second i closed the back cover of this book i just sat there for a few minutes in this total state of Awwwwwwww - Brillient - Absolutely Brillient peice of Writting, Brillient Story, Brillient Charaters. JUST BRILLIENT!!! and if you havnt already figured it out - i LOVED THIS BOOK. 5 Stars and if i could give it 6 i would Why i Bought this book: im a big fan of the UK tv Show "Skins" - recently having bought the seasons on DVD and watching all episodes of the first 2 seasons back to back, i quickly became a fan of Nicholas Hoult. I also get regular updates from IMDB on FB about upcomming movies etc. So when the Update came through about Nicholas being Cast for the new upcomming Zombie film - Imeadiately my Spidy scences tingled and i had this need to look into it more. Finding out this movie is based on a book - within Minitues was i ordering it from the Book depository. when it arrived i found myself strokeing the cover like it were a kitten. >_<" What i loved about this book: The whole thing!!! lol I loved R he was a beautiful character - for a Zombie! at the beginning like any zombies he loves to eat brains, he likes to hunt down humans and tear them into bits. But even then he still has a need to clean himself off and make himself presentable after each killing spree, collect things and bringing them home (like a Wall-E) cos they keep him closer to the idea that he was once Human, and listening to music like Frank Sinatra. Even before the change happened he was already slightly different from majority of the zombies living at the Airport. The Character Growth within him from start to end was just mesmerising - listening to the constant thought Process that was still pressent within him and the Need to improve himself against All odds just made this story. i dont know if it was Perry or Julie that ignited this change within R - i think it was a combination of both - having Perry's Memories interacting with R and showing R what it was like for the Humans through all this Zombie struggle but most of all what it was like to love - and then Julie having accepted R for what he was and trusting him enough to want to interact with him on an Scale that introduced his own feeling for her. the Zombie Sex scenes had me giggling like a 10 year old who just dictionaried the word 'Penis' LOL it was hillarious to think - Hey Yeah if zombies did exist i assume that thats how they would have sex LOL i also loved how 'M' even tho being a Zombie was a sex Addict and how he prefered to eat the brains of Female humans cos their Memories were like Porn to him. lol that too set off another giggle fit. the whole story was facinating from beginning to end - seeing the world from a Zombies point of view - even tho you still got to see what conditions the humans were living with from behind the protective Barrier - the idea that zombies lived in groups - they had laws set by the 'Boneys' - there was Marriage - didnt appear to have divorce but if the marriage didnt work out it appeared they could marry someone else all within a week without raising any consern lol they were also assigned children - it kinda seemed funny that he was a bachelor Zombie for what appeared a while (Months years who knows) but the Second he gets married (minutes after meeting this chick Zombie on the escalators and communicating only to ask her name) he was assigned children. you would think that as soon as his "wife" remarried he wouldnt need to look after the children anymore - but they always stuck in his mind through out the whole book - he thought of them as if they were his own. - Very cute! The boneys Freaked me out - The idea that there was something more sinister behind just a "virus" that infected the Zombies. These things wanted World Domination and would stop anything that came in their Way - Once R Started changing it created a Chain Reation that was causing other Zombies to want to change too - the Boneys didnt like this very much becuase it put a big dent in their Plans the rule the world. it makes you wonder what happened that caused the Virus. How do u kill a zombie - easy destory its brain - but when a zombie is that old that its reduced to nothing but Bones and dried Flesh - you would think that the brain shrivelled and fell out of the skull a long time ago - yet here they were - smarter than the average zombie - was is Sorcery? i dont even think Isaac knows the answer to that question. What i didnt like about this book: There wasnt much - in fact i dont think there was anything - Thats a first lol if i had to say anything at all - the Beginning was slow being there was very little dialogue you were stuck inside Rs head only for the first chapter or 2 it did make you feel like - i hope the rest of the book isnt like this! - should i just give up now? - but with every word the story just got better and more intreaging and those thoughts soon turned to - do i have to go to work today? - do you think the chores can do themselves? - i really dont wanna put this book down. overall: i recommend this book to everyone!!! ok maybe not everyone there is a lot of Detail with ripping of limbs, flowing blood and rotting Flesh - What did you expect its a zombie book - im usually not a fan of Zombies - infact ive kinda been a little AntiZombie since the Remake of Dawn of the dead but this book has deffinatly ignited something within me to want to give Zombies the benefit of the doubt rather than cheering on movies like Zombieland in scenes like how many zombies you can take out with an SUV! LOL Thank you Isaac Marion for Warm Bodies - i shall be returning to read it again soon.
