This story is about Cadeon and Holly and it was FANTASTIC! Cadeon lost his brothers throne years ago and has been living with the regret for centuries. He is finally given the chance to regain the throne for his brother. All he needs to do is capture the "Vessel" and deliver it to Groot. In return, Groot with give him the only sword that will kill Ormort, the one holding the crown to the throne. Cadeon has been watching Holly from the first time he ever laid eyes on her. He is mesmerized by her though he knows he can never be with a human. One night Holly is attacked and the adrenaline changes her... she is slowly transitioning into an immortal Valyrie. When Cadeon is there to save her he is shocked to find out that "his female" is the Vessel. As they journey cross country not only does Cadeon claim Holly as his mate but now he is suddenly torn. The two people he loves most is relying on him to save their lives. Does he let down his brother or sacrifice his one shot at love?? I loved this book! Cade is such a great character! I was constantly laughing at his remarks! He was so obnoxious and certainly not modest! Holly was the perfect Heroine! Their constant bickering was so funny! Everything about this book had me at the edge of my seat!

I hated this. I'm starting to think that I just don't like British Literature. I mean, I disliked Jane Austin, Harry Potter, Shakespeare (well, he's hit or miss for me), and now this. The narration would take me so much out of the storyline that even with re-reading passages; I was still left confused as to what was happening. It also didn't help that I disliked the characters. I only liked Nana the dog, and Tink surprisingly enough. She wasn't the villain Disney originally had her, and the dog wasn't even in a quarter of the book. Yes, the people I liked were such minor characters. It was a shame Peter was such a, brat. Oh well. *edit* I wanted to add that the now racist and sexist terminology and gender was at times difficult for me to take. Europe can shove that whole notion of being better than racism because the image of the "noble savage" coupled with the native population only being referred to as "redskins" leapt off the page and slapped me in the face. This was also clearly written by a man too. Neverland was to escape responsibilities, so why would Wendy go to take them on? I could see for a little while; little girls often play house. But for months? How was that fun? At all? I do get that this is a reflection of its time, place, and culture. But I don't think I'll be sharing this one with my kids. Sometimes some things are better left in the past.

Picked this up at DOC FORD's Restaurant on Sandibel Island during a trip to Everglades and Gulf Coast - it was fun reading after visiting so many of the places in the story which gave me a real feel for the locations. Also a very interesting storyline. While there are MANY possible ways to wreck havoc on society - this one is very believeable and scary. The story is fiction but the author does his homework in the way of research. Not much in the way of character developement though . . . . .

This book was certainly not the beach read that the author purported it to be. Though well-researched, I found the book rather dry. Essentially, it is a company history of ARAMCO as written by Vitalis. He criticizes the other histories available as presenting the company line. His book, instead, spends a lot of time dismissing the material available to researchers and claiming to hold the truth. Vitalis's facts may be right, and his research may be the most in-depth, but it is in no means fascinating nor groundbreaking. The myth was broken years ago.
I went through a Connie Willis phase after reading _To Say Nothing of the Dog_, which is a fabulous book; this one is less fabulous, but a short and fun read nonetheless.
