WITH SPOILERS!! The reason I'm writing this before my more detailed review of City of Bones is because I have no wish to reread City of Ashes. Now onto my review (Edit: more like synopsis): Simon's a vampire. There's some chick named Maia. Clary can draw runes. Jace and Clary have known each other less than a month and their love is so strong that it overrides the fact that they think they're related. A fairy queen makes Jace and Clary kiss. Alec loves Magnus. Maryse and the Inquisitor are such b***hes that I actually felt sorry for Jace (a little). And Clary blew up a ship. That's all that you really need to know. Cassandra Clare, stop trying to be J.K. Rowling! EDIT: I realize I probably should have said why I think she's ripping-off Rowling. It's less that I think she steals ideas or characters from Rowling (although apparently she does); it's more her style of writing. For some reason that I can't explain, it seems like Clare is trying to copy Rowling's style. It could just be my imagination though.

I like a book that I can't guess the ending until the end! A couple is in the middle of a divorce and the wife doesn't show up to sign the final papers. Instead she goes to "their" place and plans her suicide. Does she do it???

Even though parts of this book are slow-going at first, you are rewarded with transcendent writing and an amazing story. I cannot overstate what a talent this author has. I will go out on a limb here and say that Jonathon Safran Foer is the best young contempory writer in America.

I read this play many, many years ago in a wonderful seminar taught by Gavin Langmuir, in a seminar devoted to Joan of Arc. We read a long list of works about Joan of Arc -- she is one of the most written about historical figures. I remember thinking that George Bernard Shaw best captured the history and spirit of Joan of Arc, in comparison to the other authors whose works we read. I loved this play. (I have enjoyed several other plays by George Bernard Shaw over the years, which I'll have to add to my bookshelf someday.) I would like to read this again.

I got this for Christmas, read it when Enoch was out of town one day. I guess the story has been told before, but there is something about Meyer's writing style and the development of her characters that makes me really, really love her work. I hope she takes some time off for her kids and family, but will more than likely pre-order whatever she finishes next.

I read this short story for english class. It held my interest, but i wasn't attatched to the story. I liked how the auther used some nice poetic paragraphs during some of the grandmothers speech. the story however was really short and, in my opinion, did not have a climax, and not much of a story. however it was an okay read. =]

The movie looked good, so my girlfriend and I gave it a go. Amazing, frightening, and inspiring. This book is the collection of diaries written by Erin's students from room 203. It's infinitely more real and relevant than if the teacher had written it ABOUT her students. This is their horror, their world, in their words. Careful - you might just see inner-city life differently after reading this.

Beautiful. Beautiful and tragic and wonderful. I was hesitant about reading Ainsley's book almost as much as I was looking forward to it. Throughout the whole series he was the character I wanted to know about most, and as we all know there is always that one character whose story we look forward to the most and therefore worry that we will be let down when we finally get it. When I read the synopsis for his story I was doubly worried since it was a married woman for whom he falls and fathers a child with. I shouldn't have been. Ms. Heath tells a beautiful story full of passion and love. Ainsley was a true hero in every sense of the word throughout the whole book. I ached for him and Jayne and their situation, and although I knew the only way for them to achieve happiness was for there to be a tragic loss I still wanted it for them so badly. I was also glad to see the storyline of Leo and Tess wrap up so wonderfully. I wouldn't read this as a stand-a-lone as, in my opinion, you won't get the full impact of the characters and storyline unless you read all three in order. All in all, this was one of my favorite reads so far this year.

4.5 Stars for this one....somewhere between 'I really liked it' and 'it was amazing! I put off reading this book because of the idea of it I think.....thought it might be a little hokey but I kept seeing such great reviews for it that I decided to give it a try. So glad I did because I really enjoyed the relationship between Pia and Dragos. Fans of KMM's Fever Series and JR Wards's BDB would like this book! One of those books where I was disappointed it was done.....I could have kept reading! I'll definately continue on in the series.
