This book is adorable and hilarious. Sean Griswold’s Head was quite not what I expected in a good way. I thought it would just center around on Payton and Sean but it didn’t. I guess what makes it poignant and more likeable is the fact that it also deals with multiple sclerosis or MS. I learned so much about the disease and can relate to Payton’s situation. Sometimes I found it difficult to understand her but I think that what makes her like a real person. She’s smart and wise and a bit twisted but flawed like everyone else. Another person who I had fun reading was Payton’s best friend, Jac. These two best friends are total opposites, which made the story more enjoyable and entertaining to read. I loved their banters and even laughed hysterically at some parts. My favorite character was of course the male lead. Sean is a half-full-cup kind of person. He has killer calves and arms from cycling and a noticeable head. Thanks to it, Payton got her perfect Focus Object. Setting aside what’s superficial, Sean is a great guy. He’s joins cycling events and dedicates them to someone with MS. He doesn’t judge people and is full understanding. This book also taught me to disregard my first impressions to actually know people. There are ones who we’ve known by names all our lives but never really know them. I realized that they might even be my friends once I get to know them better. Very light and fun to read, Sean Griswold’s Head will be enjoyed by anyone who loves contemporary reads.

What would you do if your plane crashed down on a strange mysterious island and you woke up at what appears to be the only survivor out of 4 people on the plane? You would think it was a dream right? Especially if a nasty T-rex appeared along with creepy dirty smelly cavemen, animals and insects at abnormally larger sizes and a Tarzan like hottie draped only in a loin clothed. Ok the Tarzan like hottie draped only in a loincloth would actually be very nice.. hehe but this is what happened to Diana while travelling with her lecherous boss Mr. Wingarde to check out real estate in Bermuda. Diana wakes up after a plane crash and all hell breaks loose after that until the mysterious Salvador(aka Tarzan) rescues her from the dinosaur and cavemen. Yeah I said dinosaurs and cavemen prompting the question on Diana's and us readers minds of where the f*ck are we? While Diana is trying to come to the realization of where she is and what has happened we learn that Salvador supposively doesn't speak English but Spanish. I say supposively because there are times when it appears that he understands her while she is trying to give him directives with her hands as she anunciates. Hmmm could I be right? It is obvious the mutual attraction is there between Diana and Salvador. He later takes her to his home on the island where we meet old man Harold, and brother and sister combo Eustance and Olivia. It is here where the mystery of the island and people unfold... even though the reader is given hints throughout the conversations at what really is going on. We even see growth from Diana and some very hot passion between her and Salvador. YUM! She also begins to adapt to her island life as time passes but Diana also has this crazy notion that her boss and the stewardess Susie may still be alive since she had only seen the pilot dead when they crashed and intends to find out despite everyone telling her that it is impossible that they survived. Uh huh and since when does that ever stop the heroine of a book eh? I really liked the ending because as you go through this journey with Diana you realize that she has gone full circle and discovers new things about herself that weren't there in her everyday life. One last thing as a kinda spoiler....fans of the television show Lost might recognize certain similarities between Salvador and a certain Lostie/Other named Richard Alpert. ;) All in all I really liked this short story and the humor and adventure kept me glued to the pages. Another great tale shot out of the park for a homerun by Jill Myles!
