This novel is a old favorite of mine. I haven't read it a while but I remember laughing a lot.

This book was very well-crafted and compelling. At the risk of having far too many novels well-rated, I had to give this one a five simply because its style was heavy inspiration for a recently completed work of my own. The story is told in chunks of present time broken up by the individual stories of each major character in somewhat similar fashion to the Canterbury Tales. It's woven carefully with good detailing, each story as interesting and compelling as the characters found within. It's definitely more space-opera, so "big epic plot" is what it's all about. It's technically the first in a series of four books (broken up as two sets of two), and the second finishes off what was started in the first.

Jasper Fforde is truly creative and comes up with worlds of fancy that are delightful to interact with. While I prefer his Thursday Next series, I am glad this series had a nod to one of the characters. This book parodies both the mystery genres, like Agatha Christie and Film Noir, as well as Nursery Rhymes, tall tales, myths, and fables. Great books for the literary.

This was another long book in the Anita Blake series. While it brought more of the original main characters back into the plotline, I found it to be so similar to the last book that I got a little bored. And I still miss Edward being in the storyline. This story was good, don't get me wrong, but I have been feeling like they needed some giant plot twist to wake me out of this lull they've put me in. The story usually goes "Anita gets a job, job goes wrong, lots of sex, menmenmen, blood guns blood, no real resolution to all plot points." As far as lack of resolution goes -- I find myself struggling to put the pieces together sometimes. The 800 page book will end and I'm left to wonder "What happened to Ronnie?" or something like that. Like how did Asher and Jean-Claude work things out? They just did, I guess, because now they're chill. Meh -- I'm optimistic for Micah, but I really need something big to happen to hold my attention.

WONDERFUL!!! What a great installment! I am so invested in the love triangle. I believe I am 'Team Astley' at this point. Though I am heart broken by the loss of certain characters in this novel I can't wait for the next book in this series.
This book is one of a kind. It's mysterious mystery leaves you wondering what her older brother Brandon is up to. Wich she's not used to because her brother was the youngest responsible teenager there was. It all started when they were living in an old apartment and suddenly her brother told their mom at dinner that they can move into their house for the summer since they got two houses. But when Britt goes over two meet them Bran keeps her out of sight and doesn't even let her say her name. This book has taught me that no ones perfect people always change. so always suspect the unespected.

Very entertaining, a plot that zooms along. I enjoyed the characters and little life lessons along the way. A great read for pre-teens. (11)
