Along with delving into these women and other family members, one learns about the daily life and times of the 1800s and up to about the middle of the 20th century. There was a large amount of detail covered about the men in the family. There are some errors in the lineage charts and a few in the text, but that doesn't keep one from getting an inside view of the Rockefeller women and several of the men.

contains a mild SPOILER at the end On the plus side: + it's a page turner, I just had to keep reading because there were new secrets revealed every few chapters + the characters became more sympathetic and vulnerable in this book + offers several very creative magical creatures, just like book 1 On the minus side: - the writing style: often too colloquial/modern in connection with the time and setting (especially the dialouges), the style also seems to change a lot - what's with the genie in a bottle parallel universe? I'm still not sure I can accept that as a comprehensible story twist - leaves me anticipating book 3 (which will be released in September already though :D)

Very interesting.. worth reading .. helps us to understand human mind (and that's normal) and yet we all make the same errors over and over again
Finished! A beautiful book - well-written, with lovely prose, and an absolutely fascinating exploration of the philosophy of art in Islam. Difficult to put down, even when reading at the table.

I loved the Voice (language) in the book - the 3 friends (girls) were so great together. This is a YA book, and a fast read. I would recommend this if you're a city kid like me, or enjoy a trip into city culture (The Bronx in the 80's??--whenever Tupac was big).

I loved this book. Lots of mystery - who done it style. I listened to it on CD in the car whenever I went somewhere. I couldn't wait to hear more.

I loved this book! Very well written historical novel based on the life of Vlad Dracula. The author actually made me empathize with Dracula, which is no easy feat. After reading it, I was a little shaken, and glad I didn't live back then. Life was pretty brutal, and this book contains graphic details in impalement and other horrific tortures.
Clear, concise, and true. It's not so much a 'Mormon-specific' book, focusing instead on basic eternal principles like Family, Faith, and Optimism.
This book really is terrific. (Too bad Oprah went and ruined it with her ridiculous movie version just because she wanted to be BFF with Toni Morrison. Ugh.)
