This one starts out strong and I was sure it would be a 5 star, but the writing gets a little too gushy for me (a fairly tough thing to do) just past the halfway point, when the love story kicks in. Maybe not even too gushy, maybe just repetitively gushy. The allness and the rightness and the constant need to be touching. There's a lot of it. While I love a good love story, it's a tad syrupy, and almost more infatuation than love. My favorite relationship turned out to be the one between Karou and Brimstone...go figure. The ending is pretty great too, but I was really hoping for a one-book story. I'm so burnt out on trilogies, and without even looking up more information on the "to be continued," I'm pretty sure that's where this tale is headed. Having said that, I will be reading whatever comes next. (Just looked it up--I was right)

Very informative about the Hmong culture and understanding of their world. And, for once, a medical narative that doesn't read like a doctor writes on a patient's chart. Not overly sympathetic or judgemental of either side. Instead, a straightforward and honest description of what happens when two cultures clash (Hmong and American medical community).

I really enjoyed this book. Not the typical vampire story. Also... it made me crave cinnamon roles.

This was a birthday present from my father . . . I appreciate his attempts to teach me about the advertising industry and it certainly is an enjoyable read, though not really relevant to anyone not considering advertising as a career.

I am glad that I finally broke down & read this book. I have been a big Jeffrey Archer fan & this book does not disappoint. The book was very, very interesting considering the amount of time spent in a jail cell with the author by himself.

I just had to start reading this book the moment I finished "Dragonfly in Amber." It is the third book in an addictive series about a nurse named Claire who inadvertently travels from the mid-20th century to the mid-18th century in Scotland and falls in love with a Scottish man named James Fraser. Jamie is the type of hero that you love to read about and that you wish were present in the world today. A natural-born leader, he is ferocious, yet kind; wise, yet down-to-earth; loving, yet firm. I simply adore his character, and feisty Claire makes him the perfect match. The interplay between the two of them is fun and witty and a source of entertainment throughout the books. Both of their characters are wonderfully well-developed.

This book is amazing! Tatiana de Rosnay is a fabulous writer. The story is moving and surprising. The only character that seemed a bit off was that of the the daughter Zoe. Too mature for her age.
Couldn't put it down! It was definitely written by a man... there were times I could almost smell the dirt and grease of Larry's garage, or the damp leaves in the woods. But it somehow didn't deter me. I was enthralled by the mystery and the characters.
