August 26, 2014 I'm not sure why I said that in the previous review - that it is not my favorite. I think it is a great follow up to the first book. And it has the awesome Dumbledore quote ""It is our choices. .. that show who we truly are, far more than our abilities." "It is our choices, Harry, that show who we truly are, far more than our abilities." That's a great thing to remember in life. Enjoying the series immensely again. 2nd time reading: This is not my favorite of the series, but I enjoyed it non-the-less. It is actually a bit fascinating to me to read these again after so long and realize more fully how the story was changed for the film.

I read this book and enjoyed it. I only ever picked it up because it was compared to Jim Butchers Dresden Files. I see that in a lot of the reviews, people dont think it really is all that similar and I'll agree the story is darker, slower, the magic is spiritual instead of multifaceted and Fix cusses like a sailor and likes to mention his erections. The detecive type fantasy is where the comparison comes from, that and he sort of borrows a few sides from Butcher. Fix's friend, once enemy, is a succubus./ Dresden's brother, white court vampire, is an incubus. Fix and Dresden both have a smart mouth, they both interact with females who they want but can never really have, they both do work for the police... I could go on. I'm pretty sure Carey has read Butcher's work. I personally enjoy Butchers work a bit more but I still like Carey and will continue reading his work.

I'm not sure that we're ready for 9/11 to be incorporated into art and literature, but people are doing so anyway. One of the characters is a boy who keeps a book of clippings, including a picture of a man falling through the sky, having jumped from one of the towers. He wonders if maybe that was his father, who was in a meeting at the WTC that day. In the book we get visual examples of what the characters see, including that picture. This sort of thing struck me as gimmicky, but I was able to go along with it. The story is vivid and emotional, weaving together different storylines of people dealing with their loss and grief.

easy pieces are about the new fundamentals of the physic. The important thing that I can say is it sorts the challenging parts of physic and it just shows things without deep mathematic which scares most of the people, so it just explains the matters and some time solves them. In my humble idea it is a good book for who is interested in new physic and want to inter to that part of the science.

This could possibly be a life changing book. If a person were to incorporate the profound but simple elements presented in this inspiring book what a life he or she would have! While reading it I felt what is talked about "a moment of awareness." It was a moment free of anxiety, worry, deductions, judgment,and I have to say it felt liberating. This is the first book I've read by this author but certainly not the last.
