It's about a naive Christian salesman, and it's kind of smarmy. Wilder isn't a holier-than-though kind of guy, so the hero here doesn't go far, and neither does the story, really.

I actually prefered this one to the first installment! Much more interesting plot and very intense. The Fragment Writing actually helps with that. Janie is a fantastic herione and Cabel is growing on me; gotta love those messed up but good hearted boys. I also really adore how the author dealt with the side effects and such of being a dream catcher; it was actually pretty realistic. Definitely recommend.

Considering how much I enjoyed the others I thought this one would follow my liking. It gave away too much too soon and the ending was not what I felt the author lead up to. I just was really disappointed, but glad to have completed the series. I don't think I'll read any other of her books about the Amish.

What I learned: we need to raise the minimum wage in this country, get people healthcare, oh and Wal-Mart is evil.
Scotty Cade’s Wings of Love story starts off with the death of Bradford Mitchell’s long-time partner, Jeff. Devastated by grief, Brad goes to the place Jeff and he loved – Alaska. Once there he finds friendship with bush pilot Mac Cleary, a widower, whose never really gotten over the loss of his wife 14 years earlier. As the two men grow closer, Mac realizes the feelings he has for Brad aren’t just platonic and they decide to explore their attraction to one another. Wings of Love is a heartfelt romance about two men learning to love again after great loss. And while the romance is sweet and endearing, there were a few minor problems with the book that meant I did not fully engage with the characters. One, there was too much head-hopping POV shifts that threw me out of the story. Second, the pacing was slow. Now some readers may disagree with me but I thought the climax of the novel didn’t really fit the tone of the rest of the book. (I don’t want to give away spoilers, you’ll understand when you read it.) As I said these were minor drawbacks, overall I liked the book. I liked the idea of Mac and Brad getting a second chance at love in their cabin in the wilderness. Plus, I am hoping Jack – Mac’s brother-in-law – will get his comeuppance in a sequel. So I am giving Wings of Love 3 ½ delightful divas and will be looking forward to more stories in this universe. Rated 3 ½ Delightful Divas by Lasha! Dark Divas Reviews

Maybe the innocent (quiet, American) Pyle is as dangerous to the country of Vietnam as a leper without a bell but Graham Greene must have smoked too much opium doing research for this novella. This must be one of the silliest, most self-important books about war that I've ever read.
Freaking amazing. Probably the best book I've read on the creative process for writing (at least so far). REALLY good - highly recommended.

heart wrenching. still not sure if i can forgive or still hate the main character. i borrowed this from a friend with no idea what i was getting into...i could NOT put it down. reading parts of it was like watching a scary movie with your hands covering your eyes, yet still peeking out -- as if that would protect you from the horror.

Stephen King recommended book and aurhor. Noted as "important to the genre we have been discussing" from Danse Macabre, published in 1981. About the author he says: “McDowell must now be regarded as the finest writer of paperback originals in America.”
