** spoiler alert ** I recently realized a very important thing about Meyer as an author; although she may draw you in and make you think that you're reading something worthwhile once you've finished it and actually think about what you've just read you realize there is absolutely NOTHING of value or interest contained within the pages. The only exception to this is Breaking Dawn, because I managed to come to this conclusion while forcing myself to sit down and actually finish it. Breaking Dawn is split into three parts two which are beyond irritating and one which can maybe called ok. Here is Breaking Dawn summarized in Part 1: Edward and Bella get married. Bella falls pregnant. Am I the only one who sees a problem, well ok one of many, with this. Edward is a vampire, he is undead and doesn't have a pulse, therefore shouldn't it be impossible for blood to flow to the area it need to flow in order to make a baby. And how did the sperm survive in his body which is ice cold, for over 100 years? Part 2: Bella is pregnant. Baby is killing her. Edward is upset and hates the child. Jacob is also upset. This was probably the only half redeeming part in the book because for once it wasn't narrated by woe-is-me Bella. Nothing else really happens Part 3: Bella is finally changed, after 3 and half novels of whining about it. Baby is born. Baby grows up, Jacob imprints on baby. big build up to an epic battle which ends up falling completely flat. There are two main problems I have with this part. The first is that Bella's daughter not only ages quickly but she manages to mature in just a matter of days. Isn't Bella lucky? She doesn't even need to think about the terrible two, nope because guess what her daughter manages to fit years of growing and maturity into just a couple of days! Then even if you manage to get past this then there is the fact that then all of a sudden she stops, right in the teen years just like her mom and dad! Isn't that just awesome, they don't need to go through any of the awkward development stages! So then all that conflict is solved, Bella is alive, her daughter miraculously matures in a few days, Jacob has met the girl of his dreams (who despite everything is only a few days old. What is it with Meyer and pedophilia? She seems to think that as long as they look the right age it's OK?) Everything is just dandy... but wait the Volturi are coming, and they are out for blood! Yay! finally a chance for Meyer to redeem herself for forcing anyone to sit through and sift through the pointless garbage that came before at least there is going to be an epic battle! Meyer manages to build up the tension quite well, not great but enough. I was nervous for the battle, I was even trying to decide who she might kill off then... NOTHING! All they do is stare at each other for a while, then Alice returns with news informing the Volturi that everything is fine they can go home. And the DO! Just turn around and LEAVE! Honestly I have never wanted throw a book outside my window into the rain in my life! DO NOT READ THIS! even if you enjoyed the rest of the series and you want to finish it off don't. make up your own ending it's bound to be better!
