This was SSSSSOOOO good! I recomend it to you all! It's about this girl who is a journalist for her school paper, and mysterious things are going on with this old haunted house in their town and she has to report on it for her school paper and find out what's really going on! It's so good!

I enjoyed the story and the character. It was fun to make comparisons between the heroine here and other heroines written about during the same era (Laura Ingalls Wilder, Anne of Avonlea, The Five Little Peppers, Pollyanna etc) and to even compare the world view of her author to authors from that era like Beatrix Potter. The biggest drawback to the story was the narrative style - it seems the author had three different themes or approaches to what she was doing - while individually I like the threads okay she did not do a great job bringing them together.

I know this is a classic and everything, but I had a hard time getting into it. I have always thought this book was interesting, but I have to say, I like the book "1984" much better. It is interesting the perception of what the future holds. I would like to say that it isn't possible, but it is... everything seems possible these days.

I have always loved to geek out on his writing. I love the depth of his research and the way he makes connections. Highly recommend doing this one as a book on tape, as Malcolm himself reads it. Perfect.

There were so many things to love about this book. Being a HUGE fan of the Demonica Series I was crazy excited to read this spin-off series! The things is...I had no idea that it would be so feckin' good! Cara is an out of work vet who is falling on hard times. One day an acquaintance shows up on her doorstep with an injured dog and she saves the puppy's life(she names him Hal...for halitosis...tehee). But this aint no ordinary puppy...its a hellhound! Because she saved Hals life he bonds to her life force. Then there's fine ass Ares...the second Horseman of the Apocalypse(War). If you've read Demonica(if not whats ur deal?!lol) then you'll remember him from Sin Undone. Because Sin started that warg plague which lead to a war betwixt the wargs she broke Reseph's seal turning him into Pestilence and now he's a CRAZY mofo!! Spreading disease all over the world while trying to break his siblings seals. And bringing down the Apocalypse. Some how Cara ends up being the key to breaking Ares' seal so he has to protect her at all costs. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Got to see some of my favorites from the Demonica series. I can't wait til the next one!! Did I mention there will be upside down tree sex?! Loved it Loved it Loved it;)

5 stars, this is the best angel series I have read. It was such an emotional book and I almost cried a few times. But the story was so good. I knew something bad was going to happen, but even with the sad stuff it was still a wonderfull and happy book. I really love the place where it all takes place. I know this sounds strange, but when I hear Clara describing the environment, I wish I could be there too. I really don't know how to start this review I am still so full of emotions after finishing it. It really is a great book. I love the story, it is so good and original. I really like the idea of angel-blood roaming the earth while trying to fullfill their purpose. This books gives us some more anshwers but also gives me more questions and I am really looking forward to reading the next book. This book is really emotional. Clara is going through so much and the whole book has a sense of foreboding, something bad is going ot happen. And something bad does happen, but all in all it still end with a positive note and I think everyhting plays out how it should. I was also surpised by all the unexpected twist and turns in the book. I love the unexpectedness of the story and how the book could surpise me. The characters. I really love the characters. All of them, I get the feeling I really know them and I like seeing how they interact. Just the way they react to things really gives me a sense of who they are. I also really like the main character, Clara and how she deals with everything. She is strong, but also has a very vulnerable side. She isn't a character who always knows what to do, she is confused most of the times and struggles to make the best of this. She really is a great lead character and I can't wait to read more about her. To conclude I really liked this book. It was very emotional. The story is very good and I really like the characters. I also love how the author describes the environment so good that I want to see it for myself.

My knowledge of twentieth century logic and metaphysics is not sufficient to give a proper review for this book, but I will say that the style is excellent. I will certainly have to return to it once I have learned more about the pertinent philosophies.

A "found" book that I picked up on a day I was sick, and finished the same day. A quick read, interesting plot, fairly good character development, despite its slim size. Having said that, I felt the author purposely set out to write a tear-jerker that would translate easily to a movie--a la "Love Story." A quick check shows that one was made. Felt formulaic, almost like the novelized version of a screenplay instead of the other way around. Especially the ending, which was obviously plotted to tug on the old heart strings and cause sniffles--just not in me. Good if you like this kind of stuff, I guess.
