An amazing book that takes a different perspective of teen pregnancy. I loved that it was through the eyes of the father of the baby. It was illuminating to see and feel what a young man would feel when he found out that his girlfriend was pregnant. It was beautifully written and only took about an hour to read. I would give this book to anyone 14 and older. Ann absolutely wonderful book. Warnings: Strong language.

I have been on an Emma and Joseph kick so I really liked this book. It has been really interesting getting different opinions of Emma's reasons for some of her decisions. An Elect Lady, for sure! She endured a lot and definitely loved the Prophet Joseph! Very good book! It doesn't read like a novel, more chronological with lots of sources.

I read this with my book club at the local library. I really enjoyed it, and was drawn into both stories right away. About 3/4 through, though, I felt like the book started to get rushed and that it lost its way. Overall, an enjoyable read, but a disappointing ending.

I loved the opening of this novel. The scenes are drawn so beautifully. But I wanted more explanation about why the heroine must go through such painful ordeal to free her brothers, other than "because that's the way it is". And I guess I wasn't expecting a prolonged love story either. So I was disappointed towards the end, but I might want to reread this with no expectations and just enjoy the story.
