Absolutely loved The Iron Knight. So fantastic I can barely get words to form to describe how great it was. So so good.

Hobb usually does an amazing job of keeping her characters in conflict, challenging the reader with charged conversations and gut-wrenching tragedy. But her latest entry in the Soldier Son Trilogy is 700 pages of Nevare's whining and indecision and frankly... it gets boring fast. All the interesting characters from the trilogy's previous installment exist only on the outskirts here. Get it from the library and read it for the last chapter. Those precious 15 pages at the end left me with some hope for the character and the sequel.

just couldn't get into this book. something about the way vonnegut writes, my mind just can't keep with it, keep interested. but was thinking that it seems the kind of books virile straight guys would read.

True vignettes from a Victorian collector of human oddities. Built for me. Why not five stars? Too short.

blah, blah, blah....I had to finish the series to find out what happens.
So basically if you don't understand the plot of the book when after looking at the cover than you're gonna get a big ol shock. It's about people stuck in some village protected by some rusted gate, confined by religion and rules, unhappy and forced to procreate but pretend it's something festive. Oh and did I mention the fact that they are surrounded by zombies? So our protagonist is Mary. Does she have a last name? I don't remember. So basically the book starts out with her mom turning into a zombie, if that's not bad enough her dad is already one. So luckily she has a big brother to take care of her right? Nope. He throws her ass right out the door blaming her for her mothers zombiefied body. So she's stuck staying with a bunch of uptight old ladies who supposedly have a bunch of secrets about the world, and are like the educators to the villagers. Do we ever learn their secrets? Naw. We are forced to watch Mary drool over Travis, oh yea did I mention him? He's this guy with no personality whatsoever, with the description of blonde hair and green eyes. He broke his leg being a dumbo walking on ice, on top of a hill or something. So he one day promises Mary to come for her and marry her or whatever, so she isn't stuck with his less handsome, though totally devoted, kind brother Harry. He never shows up, Hell he admits he never intended too. Anyway, Mary sees this girl, I don't feel like spelling her name, and she's from an outside village. Whoopie. She turns into a zombie. Mary becomes obsessed with her, why I don't know. Somehow this one is fast and vicious, and do we ever find out why? Nope. So their village gets attacked. So Mary, her weird best friend, some kid, Harry, and Travis and a dog escape the village and go on some path that will lead them to another village. Things to Ponder... Why does no one believe there was an ocean? If there are any type of educators or books than there is evidence of a freakin ocean. Hell even their scripture, the Bible mentions and ocean. How is a fence keeping back vicious, man eating zombies? How the heck were there zombies to begin with? Now......... Mary is not a likable character at all. She is selfish, ungrateful and just plain ol boring. Why do Harry and Travis like her? So here's a big ol spoiler. Travis dies, her brother Jed dies, she leaves her supposed best friend, a little boy and Harry alone in the path surrounded by zombies to die, so she can get to her damn ocean. Once she finally gets there she has a nice swim, and her and the guy who decapitates heads for a living go off into his light house. There I've just saved you 308 pages of reading!

Megumi Kuroishi was living a life of luxury until because of the will left behind, until a member of the family was found. Her name was Susuka kogami. When they first meet he starts to at all strange and not like himself. He didn't know what was wrong until his father tells him about the curse of the kuroishi clan. No one knows how to break the curse and he doesn’t know what to think of Suzuka until he starts to feel feelings for her. But is it the curse or him. This book reminds me of a movie I saw. It was about this girl who didn't know what to do follow her heart or follow what everyone else did. And that reminds me of this book because Megumi didn't know what to do and now he doesn’t know if it’s him or the curse. I give this book 5 stars because it was funny. I loved the way Megumi reacted to things. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes romantic books.
