Kristina Helen _ristina_elen — Believe it or not, I've finally finished this book! I began it in November of 2006 and, partly because it's nonfiction, read it in fits and spurts between then and now. Clark's writing is astonishing (every time I picked it up again, I was amazed to hear this woman from the 1950s still speaking loud and clear in her own voice) and she weaves together the history of Breton with the life cycle of the delicious Belon oyster (les plates)

Mahmoud Shaheenov shaheenov — To Kill a Mockingbird is one of the best accounts of the hysteria that racial hatred and false accusations could create in the deep South prior to the 1980s. The writing is tremendous and the actual theme is very inspirational. I like the writere's style of writing. Scout is so mentally developed for her age. It's amazing. It made you feel like you were part of the book. This book was amazing and I feel really great that in high school they challenged us to read this. In high school I don’t think we were amture enough to realize the depth to which this book was meant to be understood. Now after a couple fo years of being in the real world and having this kind of stuff put in your face it really hits you why they make you read books like this in high school.

Maria João mariajoaoorgedias — Picked up as part of my avoiding something a little further down my reading list (I'll leave anyone who is interested enough to research that one) and devoured in one go because it was, as anticipated, so easy to read. A grieving Julia stops a train to rescue a sheep thus unwittingly incurring the sympathy of Sylvester and, as a consequence of that, the animosity of Maurice. The subsequent entangling of their lives and revelations of Julia's troubled past lead to the inevitable happy ending in a story that, while hardly deep and sometimes predictable, remains entertaining annd (just about) credible.

乾 坤 62449317627ff — This book would've been better as a short story. The relationship between the two main characters is beyond creepy. I simply didn't "get" anything from reading it. With every turn of the page, I was desperately wishing the author would dig even further into the psyche of a person suffering from dementia. No payoff, unfortunately.
