I read this book as a child and enjoyed the strong independant girls in the book. It is a childhood favorite that made me appreciate sisterly relationships as well.

This is kind of in the same vein as that crap I read sometimes like The Penetrator, or Nick Carter. The stories are really cookie cutter. The skinhead does some bad things, maybe beats up hippies or something, he does something else bad, and then he gets caught and he goes to jail. The next story he gets out, finds that being a skinhead now means being a suedehead (....oh i was a good lay, good lay), which is like a skinhead with hair, does some bad stuff, gets arrested. Guess what happens in the third book? He gets out of jail, does some more bad stuff and goes back to jail. Kind of repetitive, but still fun.

I just had to include this, because one of my sister's patient's fathers has a testimonial in this book. And I wanted to give it two stars for two reasons: so that it rates higher than My Sister's Keeper and to prove that hilarious cover art makes a difference.

The blurb on the cover of ‘The Shepherd’ by Ethan Cross states that this book is the “Silence of the Lambs meets the Bourne Identity”. I totally agree with that description. The villain Francis Ackerman, Jr. is truly frightening. His father trained him to be that way from the beginning of his childhood. Why did his father want to create such a monster? This book flowed very quickly but the descriptions of the violence against the victims chilled me so much that I had to take breaks from reading it. I would have like the book better if there were breaks but I did read this book as a sort of test to myself to see what I could stand fright wise. Both the villain and Marcus Williams caught up in a conspiracy that reached to the top of the nation. This conspiracy makes you consider what is right and wrong. The end justifies the means is an old argument that fuels the conspiracy. I recommend this book for everyone who likes a scary thriller. I received this book as a win in a GoodReads contest but my review was in no way influenced by that. My thoughts are my own.

This book was incredibly moving. The kind of book that transports you to another time and place. I particularly love books about immigrant stories. In essence, this book is a love story, but a love story full of melancholy about a love that is never consummated.

I put this book off for a very long time. It was a gift back in '07 I think, maybe earlier than that. I had picked it off the book shelf several times and always put it back. But now I am really glad I read it. This is a terrific book. Great story, great beginning, middle, end. It is very sad, but provides hope. All in all, 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend to anyone.

I thought this was a good book overall, but it was very hard to keep up with. It kept me interested with what was going to happen next. I found it was very hard to follow though,i would often lose track of the characters; who's who etc. Eye of the raven could be explained in better detail with the characters. I loved at the end how eliot patterson wrote the journey that duncan and johantty were to take together. I reccomend this book for anyone who loves a good mystery and can keep up with them. eye of the Raven is a good book, but for kids who are in 11 grade and above. I personally love history so this is a great book if you like that too.
