I liked the first person Asperger's narration of this book. The rest of the story is touching and the characters are real, but it's the plain writing that stands out. Bonus points for having a mathematical proof in the appendix.

I highly recommend this amazing, heartwrenchingly honest account of Mary Beth Chapman's life (wife of Contemporary Christian artist Steven Curtis Chapman), God's leading, and the horrible tragedy of losing their 5-year-old daughter Maria in an accident. Truly a story of how faith in Christ is so important and how Maria's short precious life continues to impact today. I encourage all to read it, and to SEE God's grace and mercy before and during grief.

Another fine work in the series. One aches for Bertie to be able to have some fun, free of his overbearing mother's clutches. I'm rooting for all the residents and friends of Scotland Street to move toward their self-actualization. And the book doesn't disappoint.

I had read one of his pirate books and "Bad Case of Stripes" but didn't know about these "David" books. I love them. Highly recommended.

I liked Under the Tuscan Sun better, but I do love how well Mayes describes things in her writing. Whether food, people, art, or her garden, she is able to transplant the reader to be standing right there with her.

A story told in four sections, each told in the first person by a different character, and set in England during the Reformation, this is a gripping tale and intriguing mystery. What you think the story is about after reading the first section mutates and evolves to a quite surprising ending. If you like mystery, beautiful prose, and fascinating characters, pick this up. You won't easily be able to put it down.

I really liked the whole family/clan aspect to this book. I also loved who even within this large extended family everyone is such an individual as everyone's talent is unique to them. When this is considered normal when you grow up, I can see why Tamsin would feel like a freak, as the only one without a talent. If that was me, I would pick the same path as Tamsin by getting out and fitting in to the human/non-talent world. I think that Tamsin is secretly jealous of the others and this leads to the heart of the book. Sensing a small way to fit in Tamsin makes an off handed choice that leads to big consequences that affects her family and leads her to learn some long kept family secrets. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next book.
